September 18, 2024 – Marvel Television’s highly anticipated Agatha All Along has premiered on Disney. Perception, an Emmy-nominated design lab renowned for its award-winning title sequence design and expertise in developing cutting-edge technologies for blockbuster films and tech companies, designed the exquisitely detailed Main on End title sequence for this exciting new series.
Having collaborated closely with Marvel Studios on over 30 films and series, Perception has helped to create the look of iconic films like Iron Man 2 and Black Panther, while also crafting unforgettable title sequences for Avengers: Endgame, Moon Knight, and many more.
After creating the title design for WandaVision, the team at Perception, led by co-founders Danny Gonzalez and Jeremy Lasky, aimed to showcase the rich legacy and cultural imprint of witches throughout history, which lies at the heart of the series.
“Collaborating with Marvel Studios on Agatha All Along was very different from WandaVision,” says Gonzalez, “WandaVision is a love letter to classic TV, whereas Agatha All Along centers on the stereotypes of witches– and it was incredibly interesting to dive into that realm.”
Richly layered with hidden gems and carefully placed easter eggs, Agatha All Along’s Main on End title sequence holds a depth of detail that offers new discoveries for the audience with each watch. The design weaves together archival illustrations from the Salem Witch Trials, historical newspaper clippings, and pop culture elements, transporting viewers through a visual narrative that spans the ages.
Christian Haberkern, Art Director at Perception, says, “We had creative freedom to fully explore the show’s core themes, leveraging original assets that infused authenticity into our narrative. As we dove into history and uncovered new insights along the way, the design process became an incredibly memorable experience for our team.”
In addition to the Main on End title sequence, Perception designed the “Agnes of Westview” parody title sequence, inspired by psychological crime dramas. This creative design further showcases the studio’s ability to blend storytelling with striking visuals.
“It is always a privilege to collaborate with the visionary leadership at Marvel Studios,” says Lasky. “The creative synergy we share is special, as we immerse ourselves in building and expanding this world. Our commitment to authenticity and believability, paired with strong typographic elements and carefully curated photography, makes this sequence both impactful and unique.”
Perception’s dedication to innovation continues to elevate title design in the industry, solidifying its role as a leading force in cinematic visual storytelling.
